Whether you’re looking for an experienced builder to complete the design and build of your custom home, bring your architectural design to life or knockdown and rebuild your existing home, we will follow the below process to bring your vision to life.
OUR PROCESS
Vision
We begin with a sit down meeting to discuss your new custom home. If you’re looking for inspiration, you can browse our quality home design catalogue, or we can work collaboratively to design and build a custom home that suits your unique block of land.
To determine exactly what you’re looking for, we’ll ask a range of questions about your lifestyle and budget. We’ll also conduct a property visit to ensure we factor any unique site conditions into your design and budget. This will help us to provide you with an accurate quote.
Design
Once we’ve determined that we can bring your vision to life, it’s time to get started on design! If you’re engaging our services for design and build, we will bring in our architect to get started on the plans. If you’ve already had an architect bring your vision to life, we’ll undertake an in-depth assessment of your plans to ensure we are all on the same page.
Once the plans are drafted, we’ll invite you back to our office to get started on selections. From exterior cladding to interior flooring and bathroom fixtures, this is the stage where you add your personality to every inch of your custom home. Should you need design assistance, our friendly team is available at any time to provide advice and suggestions.
Pre-Construction
With the plans drafted and selections finalised, we will provide you with a comprehensive quote and later, a building contract. At Christou Homes, we value your peace of mind, which is why we ensure complete transparency in the investment for your building. We only work with fixed-price contracts, which means once it’s signed, there will be no changes to price.
Once the contract has been signed, our team will submit all required documents and applications for council approval. This is a requirement of all new home builds and ensures your home complies with all the local and state regulations. Rest assured; we will complete this process on your behalf. Once all documents have been approved, we can set a date to begin construction.
Construction
During construction, we’ll invite you to regular site visits to view the progress of your home. At Christou Homes, we understand the importance of staying connected to your custom home build. That’s why we provide an onsite camera, allowing you to conveniently view the progress of your home construction from anywhere in the world.
We’ll keep you informed every step of the construction process, so you know exactly what is happening at any given time. We provide a convenient online portal that eliminates the needs for chasing our builder for updates. This results in a stress free and enjoyable building experience that is uniquely tailored to you. It’s also where we’ll save any important construction documents associated with your build. As the project is nearing completion, we’ll invite you to do a pre-handover inspection to ensure your home meets your expectations.
Handover
Once construction is complete and we’ve confirmed all work is completed to our quality standards, we will present you with your very own set of keys and welcome you to your new home! We’ll also provide a folder with all the documentation, manuals and warranties you need to keep your new home in perfect condition for years to come.
After 90 days, we’ll return to your home to ensure everything remains exceptional – if any defects have shown up, we will attend to these free of charge. This allows complete peace of mind for you.
